Because of the massive earth quake of Wenchuan in Sichuan province, many giant pandas were sent to Bifengxia Panda Base. So we make a new Giant Panda Tour only in Chengdu and Bifengxia on June of 2008. What our purpose is to do something for panda bear which is under a dangerous condition. And Bifengxia Panda Base needs many Panda Volunteers to help panda! Hope that more and more people can pay attention to Giant Panda after earth quake.

Itinerary

Day 01: arrive in Chengdu

Arrived in Chengdu, by yourslef to your hotel(taxi fee about 60-100RMB,airport bus fee 10RMB, overnight in Chengdu.

Day 02:Take taxi (about 15-25RMB) to Chadianzi Bus Station for bus (about 50RMB) to Wolong, off bus and check in Wolong Panda Inn hotel, then walk to Panda Garden for procedure of volunteering work, overnight in Panda Inn hostel(2*). (B)

Day 03 - Day 05: Volunteer in Wolong Panda Reserve

You are so lucky to have a chance to get close with beloved giant panda. Because during these days you will do a volunteering work in Wolong Panda Reserve. Maybe the work is hard, but it's valuable. And overnight still in Panda Inn hostel(2*). (B)

Day 06:Take public bus back to Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station, then take taxi to your hotel for night.(B)

Day 07: departure of Chengdu

Take taxi or airport bus to Chengdu airport for your flight departure. end of the tour. (B)

How to be a volunteer in Wolonmg or Bifengxia?

If you want to become a volunteer of Wolong Panda Club,

you should serve the following things:

a.    The healthy certificate from a normal hospital.
b.    The self-introduction, if you have the volunteer experience, please write them down.
c.    The copy of ID card, if not adult, serves the copy of the guardians ID card.
d.    The copy of your last diploma.
e.    All of your contact details, address, zip code, E-mail, telephone, Fax. The more, the better.

The information can be sent to us by the address that we serve you at the end of this page. After all of them be checked, we will contact with you. And then date a certain day, come to Wolong, then all the work will be arranged!

The different kinds of volunteers:
1. The assistant of China panda keeper
There will be a short days training. The time depends on the training steps.
a. There is one keeper will become your teacher, and please do what the teacher ask you to do.
b. Clean the bedroom and the garden for the giant panda.
c. Prepare food, such as: carrot, apples, panda bread and biscuit. Also carry the bamboo.
d. Sometimes, you should help the scientists to collect the behavior data.
e. Sometimes, you should help the veterinary to do the medicine care for the panda.
2. The clerk of Wolong Panda Club
There will be a short days training. The time depends on the training steps.
a. The typist, help the staff type the documents.
b. The translator, translate the web pages, and some daily documents.
c. The web designer, help the staff design and develop the website.
3. The interpreter of panda garden
There will be a short days training. The time depends on the training steps.
a. Introduce the giant panda research, such as: the breeding, hand-rearing, Husbandry, enrichment and so on.
b. Introduce the giant panda research cooperation, such as: with The States, Japan, Austria, Thailand and so on, also the development of all of these co-operations.
c. Introduce all the giant pandas, the different habit, behavior, experience of each giant panda.
d. Introduce all the buildings and their function.
e. Tell the stories of the giant panda for the visitors.
