Attractions: Wolong Giant Panda Enclosure and Ecology Museum (Giant Panda Museum), Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong valley,  in Maoxian taste the Qiang ethnic culture and habitude, Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Webshu Temple, Chengdu Wangjiang Bamboo Park.

 

Itinerary

Day 01: arrived in Chengdu

Arrive in Chengdu where is the jumping-off point for the tour. You can ordain the first day by yourself. Also you can take a  relaxation in the hotel and enjoy Chengdu's night piece. (D)

 

Day 02: Chengdu - Wolong

We will leave Chengdu for Wolong. It is 143 km away from Chengdu. In Wolong we will visit Giant Panda Enclosure and Ecology Museum (Giant Panda Museum). You can fully realize the Enclosure is so important for panda this endangered species. In there most of the giant pandas stay individually in the captive cages. Each enclosure consists of an indoor room and an outdoor courtyard. And Ecology Museum (Giant Panda Museum) will give your a further knowledge about pandas. At night stay in Wolong. (B/L/D)      

 

Day 03: Wolong - Maoxian -  dexihaizi (earthquake lake) - Songpan old town - Jiuzhaigou

We will drive to Jiuzhaigou, by the way visit Maoxian, Dexihaizi - a earthquake lake, Songpan old town. Depend night on Jiuzhaigou. Overnight in Jiuzhaigou. (B/L/D)              

 

Day 04: Jiuzhaigou

We will visit Jiuzhaigou by green bus. There are many beautiful landscape such as Waterfalls in Pearl Sands, Nuorilangand and Shuzheng , Shuzheng lake, Panda lake, Chang lake, five colors lake, Tiger lake, Rhinoceros Lake and the Tibetan mills. The country man's local Tibetan culture show is available in evening, the price is about RMB180/person (excluded), overnight in Jiuzhaigou. (B/L/D)              

Jiuzhaigou is a national nature reserve. It has been known throughout the world as a Paradise in the World and Fairyland on the Earth for its crystal lakes and waterfalls, virgin forests, rare animals, and birds.

 

Day 05: Jiuzhaigou -Huanglong - Maoxian

After breakfast drive to Huanglong , trekking visit Huanglong valley, the whole sightseeing in Huanglong takes about 3-4 hours, the average altitude of Huanglong is 3200M, so do not  push yourself in order to avoid the altitude sickness. Then go on to Maoxian, it is a time consuming trip due to the long distance. (If the ice cover the road, we will skip Huanglong park and visit Muni gorge Park.) And we will depend our night in Maoxian. In Maoxian there is a ethnic named Qiang. This is one of the oldest nation in China. They are also called "the nation in the clouds", on the eastern edge of the Tibetan plateau in the northwest part of Sichuan Province. If you come there in  the Chinese traditional lunar year May 5th (about June), you would meet the celebration for Waer Ezu Festival. It is for the goddess of song and dance-Shalang Sister. So women are the main roles, the local people also call it the Women's Festival. During the night before festival, women assemble to make sun momo (a kind of solar steamed bun), moon momo and hill-shaped momo for the next day's sacrifice. In the festival, follow mother's brother women offer a sacrifice to the goddess; after a ceremony of kill goat, the mother's brother pray the god and direct a dancing and singing performance.
