Because of the massive earth quake of Wenchuan in Sichuan province, many giant pandas were sent to Bifengxia Panda Base. So we make a new Giant Panda Tour only in Chengdu and Bifengxia on June of 2008. What our purpose is to do something for panda bear which is under a dangerous condition. And Bifengxia Panda Base needs many Panda Volunteers to help panda! Hope that more and more people can pay attention to Giant Panda after earth quake.

Because of Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan we stopped the following panda tour route:

4 days tour for Giant Panda in Wolong Reserve

Route: Chengdu- Wolong -Chengdu -China
Attractions: Chengdu Panda Base, Wenshu Temple and Wenshufang Old Street, Wolong Panda Bear Enclosure and Panda Child Enclosure, donating panda, Giant Panda Museum.

Itinerary

Day 01: Chengdu

Arrive in Chengdu where is the jumping-off point for the tour. You can ordain the first day by yourself. Also you can take a relaxation in the hotel and enjoy Chengdu's night piece. (D)

Day 02: Chengdu - Wolong

Firstly, we will go to Chengdu Panda Base meet the beloved giant panda. Then have a lunch and taste appetizing Sichuan food. After that visit Wenshu Temple and Wenshu Old Street, where you can acquaint yourself with Chinese traditional culture. At about 16:00 we'll drive to Wolong (143 km from Chengdu). It takes about 4 hours to get to Wolong. Check into the hotel, where have more fresh air than city. (B/L/D)

Day 03: Chengdu - Wolong

In the morning visit Panda Bear Enclosure, Panda Child Enclosure, and also you can ask our experienced guide to arrange for you to take picture photo with pandas (hold panda baby for photo in your lap) in cub or Children panda bear house, of course taking picture photo with baby panda cost you extra as donation (Some time not available for photo with panda and play with panda). And after lunch visit Panda Museum for about 1-2 hours), overnight in Wolong. (B/L/D)

Day 04: back to Chengdu

After breakfast in Wolong we will drive back to Chengdu. (B/L)

Your flight will take off after 15:00

And this tour can be combined with Mt.Sigunangshan & Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve, also can linked to other nature reserve.

How To Adopt Giant Panda

Joining the panda club, you can adopt panda in Wolong or Bifengxia. The reference is as follows:

Membership of Wolong Panda Club:
Student membership 400RMB for each year
Silver membership 600RMB for each year
Lifetime membership 6000RMB

Membership benefits: appropriate membership card, a panda button, semiannual Panda Club Magazine, a yearly Panda Club gift, free admission to the Wolong Panda Garden for you.

1. One year private adoption $5,000 US (A panda is adopted and named by only one person)
2. One year shared adoption $500 US (A panda can be adopted by ten different people)
3. One year group adoption $5,000 US (A panda is adopted and named by one group)
4. Life-time adoption depends on the practical situation (A panda is adopted and named by one person only for the duration of the pandas life)

Adoption benefits: A Panda Club membership gold card, panda button, semiannual Panda Club Magazine, an annual Panda Club gift, free admission to the Wolong Panda Garden for you and 10guests, you and your guests can also have your free photo taking with a giant panda during your adoption.

Or you may donate for giant pandas: if your donation reached a certain level, you will get the benefit from the panda club.

The adoption funds will be used as follows:
1. Management, feeding and medical care for the giant panda
2. Giant panda research projects
3. Administrative cost

How To Go Wolong

It must be noted that both the Giant Panda Breeding Centre and the Lesser Panda Semi-Nature Centre were established for wildlife and habitat conservation purposes, but not as tourist attractions. There are neither regular visiting programmes nor standby tour guides. But owning to its popularity, there are now tour operations arranging visits to the area.

If you do not know any of the travel agencies within China, you may try to get hold of some local travel agencies through the Chengdu hotels, so that you can asked for a tailor made tour. A two-night stay should be fair enough for going through the above mentioned spots.

In view of the long traveling distance and the limited communication facilities along the way from the city to Wolong, just renting a van from Chengdu and expect a walk-in room booking to the Wolong inns is NOT recommended
